Product Information

This powerpoint and worksheet show students how to create equivalent fractions by scaling up a simple fraction.

Uses simple practical applications.

Using real life data to see how 9 out of 10 scales up to 18 out of 20 and eventually 90 out of 100 thus also making a connection with percentages as special ‘out of 100’ fractions.

Also the splitting of a whole into two fractions e.g. 9 out of 10 people being right-handed means 1 out of 10 people are left-handed. Percentages total 100%.
